Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
PlayAsOne uses cookies and similar technologies (such as localStorage) to operate the platform and, optionally, to understand how it is used. This policy explains which cookies we use, why, and how you can control them.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. It can store technical information (e.g. a session token) or analytics identifiers. We also use browser localStorage for some preferences.
2. Categories of cookies we use
- Essential: required for the platform to function (authentication, security). These are always active and do not require consent.
- Preference: remember choices like language. Treated as essential because they store your explicit preference.
- Analytics: help us understand which features are used. Only set after you accept the cookie banner.
3. Cookies we set

|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase | Keeps you signed in. Required for authentication. | 1y | Essential |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | Supabase | OAuth/magic-link sign-in flow security (PKCE). | Session | Essential |
| pao-cookie-consent | PlayAsOne | Stores your cookie preferences so we don't ask again. | 12m | Essential |
| pao-lang | PlayAsOne | Remembers your language choice (EN/NL). Stored in localStorage. | Persistent | Preference |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors and sessions for usage analytics. | 2y | Analytics |
| _gid | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes users for 24h analytics aggregation. | 24h | Analytics |
Third-party services we use (Mollie, Resend, Sentry, Vercel) may set their own cookies on the pages where they are active. Refer to their respective cookie policies for details.
4. Managing your consent
- When you first visit, the cookie banner lets you accept or decline optional (analytics) cookies.
- You can change your choice at any time by clearing your site data and reloading, or by emailing us.
- You can also block cookies in your browser settings, but this may break login or core functionality.
5. More information
